dc.description.abstract | Titanium dioxide (TiO2) is an element widely found in nature due to its lightness, durability and resistance to corrosion .It is by man as a food additive, catalyst or colorant. The aim of this study was to determine the toxicity of titanium dioxide nanoparticles (TiO2) and oxidative stress on the cardiovascular system of Wistar rats, which are suitable for toxicological studies to easily assess the toxicity of foreign substances. The study was conducted over 90 days on 21 rats divided into 3 groups (7 rats each) (1) a control group, (2) treated with titanium dioxide (ml/kg2.5), (3) a group treated with titanium dioxide (ml/kg1.25). Our results show that the presence of titanium dioxide nanoparticles (TiO2) causes a disturbance in growth, and biochemical studies showed a disturbance in the main components, a deficiency in protiens, carbohydrates, and an increase in fats. Biological parameters also led to a decrease in MDA and GSH levels, as well as GPx activity, in titanium dioxide-treated rats compared to control rats. | en_US |
