Abstract: "Abstract This study focuses on the analysis and modelling of the behaviour of thick beams, with particular emphasis on their response under various forces, especially the effect of transverse shear. The study employs theories from material mechanics, such as Timoshenko’s theory, known for its accuracy in interpreting and analysing the effects of transverse shear and the rotation of cross-sections within the beams. Numerical modelling, particularly using Finite Element Methods (FEM), is employed to simulate beam behaviour and analyse stresses and deformations with precision. This approach helps in understanding the impact of real loads on thick beams. These models provide powerful tools for the designof engineering structures such as bridges and buildings, contributing to improved structural performance and proposing design solutions that ensure safe and efficient construction. The results from this study offer a reliable scientific basis for enhancing the design of thick beams in various engineering applications, thus ensuring the safety and durability of complex structures.
