Abstract: Drug-induced hepatotoxicity is a major public health problem, as it is the leading cause of liver failure. The objective of the work is to evaluate antioxidant status during drug-induced liver failure. Our study was conducted in the laboratory on 60 samples of subjects (men and women), of which 30 subjects represents the control group and 30 subjects with drug-induced hepatic insufficiency, to which we have determined the following biochemical blood parameters: glucose, urea , creatinine, direct and state bilirubin, proteins, albumin, cholesterol, transaminases, alkaline phosphatase, reduced glutathione, glutathione peroxidase, glutathioneS-transferase, malondialdehyde. Analysis of the results confirmed liver failure with depletion of plasma antioxidant defense and increased lipid peroxidation It can be concluded that the severity of the disease is probably due to the decrease of antioxidant defense, and drugs likely to cause liver failure should be administered in combination with antioxidant molecules: trace elements (selenium, manganese, magnesium, zinc, copper ), vitamins (E, C, ..)
