الملخص كاملا بجميع اللغات المتوفرة (العربية، الفرنسية، الانجليزية) : يتناول موضوعنا دراسة مظاهرات 17 أكتوبر 1961من خلال الكتابات الإنجليزية لنيل ماك ماستر وجيم هاوس، يرى مؤلفا هذا الكتاب أن شعلة إحياء ذكرى مجزرة باريس في شهر أكتوبر 1961 تعود إلى أبناء الهجرة الذين انتفضوا ضد فقدان الذاكرة لدى آبائهم، وحوَلوا بذلك 17 أكتوبر 1961 إلى رهان للذكرى وللتاريخ وللمجتمع. وقد ذهب مؤلفا هذا الكتاب أبعد من ذلك كي يعتبرا أن تاريخ 17 أكتوبر يتطلب دراسة أشكال المنطق المعقد الذي حكم الآليات التي تعاملت بها جميع الأطراف من فاعلين وضحايا، وإن الكتاب بالنسبة للباحث الجزائري" رؤية بريطانية لصفحة سوداء" من التاريخ الفرنسي. الملخص باللغة الإنجليزية:

Our topic deals with the study of the October 17 demonstrations through the English writings of Neil McMaster and Jim House. The authors of this book believe that the flame of commemorating the Paris massacre in October 1961 goes back to the sons of immigration who rose up against the loss of memory of their fathers, and thus turned October 17, 1961 into a bet of memory.
