Résumé:
Several countries in the Middle East and North Africa witnessed popular uprisings, demonstrations and rebellions against some Arab countries’ regimes aspiring to better life standards, fairer job market and more justice. Libya, the focal point of our investigation, was no exception. The present work investigates how the so-called “Arab Spring” spread to reach Libya, its causes and consequences locally and in the region. A combination of the historical method, to provide a detailed account of how the events unfolded and the content Analysis method via scrutinizing official reports and political figures speeches. The investigation unveiled the malicious intention demonstrated by NATO intervention on the pretext of reforming the status quo of the Libyans, whereas the actual scene proves chaotic and it has plunged the country into bloodshed, a civil war between tribal factions in the country that is not to end any time soon. Consequently, the neighboring countries’ security is jeopardized.
