dc.contributor.advisor To mitigate the low Flexural strength and unexpected failures of Deep Cement Mixing piles, a new type of DCM pile called Stiffened Deep Mixing Pile (SDCM) is introduced. A jet grouting method was utilized in the installation of DCM piles. The SDCM pile consists of a DCM pile with a steel H beam inserted at its centre. A 3D model of an excavation in soft clay supported by a deep cement mixing walls were simulated, and then the results was validated to a field case study in Bangkok, Thailand. The effect of various parameters on wall deflection and stability is then evaluated using a parametric study. Individual column size, column embedment, and column strength are among these parameters. The obtained results showed that the settlements and lateral movements of the SDCM pile were less than those of the DCM pile. Also, the findings are utilized to make design recommendations and guidelines.
