This work presents the study of the battery management system, with an emphasis on estimating the state of charge, which is an important part of the battery management system. At the beginning, this thesis deploys a presentation of the different types of batteries, and also provides generalities, principles and general concepts on the types of battery management systems, then the thesis presents a presentation of the most important types of models. of batteries proposed in the well-known literature, and this work also presents a study of the most well-known types of observers that help us to estimate the state of charge, as well as the depth of discharge of the battery. And in the last part, the focus was on one of the types of batteries (Lead-Acid batteries), where an electric model was presented that allows to obtain the mathematical model. The state of charge estimate and the estimation of the voltage value at the output of the battery without noise was carried out using the Kalman filter. This explains why a number of researchers are concentrating in their work on developing the use of this technique.
