Résumé:
Pronunciation is one of the most important elements in teaching and learning a foreign language.
Accordingly, the current study seeks to gather the views of EFL teachers and learners towards the
implementation of audio-visual aids to enhance learners’ pronunciation. Moreover, it targets the good
assessment of learners to the effectiveness of different audio-visual aids in teaching and learning the
various aspect of pronunciation in EFL classrooms at Larbi Tebessi University during the academic year
2020-2021. Therefore, it is assumed that teachers agree upon the effectiveness of using audio-visual aids
in EFL learning classrooms for improving learners’ English pronunciation. Additionally, it is assumed
that EFL learners also view the use of audio-visual aids as effective to enhance their pronunciation.
Furthermore, it is assumed that learners assess the effectiveness of using videos, pictures and audio
tapes in teaching and learning various aspects of pronunciation as a good tool. To this enda descriptive
research design has been used to check the assumptions and to answer the proposed research questions.
As such, two questionnaires were administered to both teachers and learners and the data obtained were
analyzed statistically in terms of frequencies, percentages, means and standard deviations. They
disclosed the following main results. First, teachers consider the implementation of audio-visual aids to
enhance learners’ pronunciation as moderately effective. Second, learners also view that the use of
audio-visual aids can help them to ameliorate their English pronunciation. Finally, learners’ asses the
employment of videos, pictures and audiotapes as moderately effective.
