Abstract : The present study, a descriptive correlational study, aimed to investigate the relationship between excessive use of artificial intelligence applications and the development of dependent personality traits among high school adolescents in the province of Tebessa. It also sought to identify differences in the level of AI application use and the degree of dependent personality according to the academic track (science/humanities), as well as to determine the extent to which dependent personality can be predicted through the level of AI application use. The study population consisted of 285 second-year high school students. The study sample was selected using a proportional stratified sampling technique, representing 30% of the original population, resulting in a sample of 86 students aged between 15 and 19 years, belonging to the science and literature tracks at Fatima Al-Zahra high school in Tebessa. For data collection, two questionnaires were used : the first, developed by the researchers, measured the use of artificial intelligence applications, and the second was the dependent personality scale by Zaatar and Abu Al-Khair (1999). After data collection and statistical analysis using appropriate statistical methods, including the arithmetic mean, standard deviation, independent samples t-test, Pearson’s correlation coefficient, and simple linear regression, the study yielded the Following résulte : There are no statistically significant differences in the level of AI application use among adolescents based on the academic track (science/humanities). There are no statistically significant differences in the degree of dependent personality among adolescents based on the academic track, with close mean values between the two groups. There are no statistically significant relationship between excessive use of artificial intelligence applications and dependent personality traits among adolescents. Dependent personality cannot be predicted through the level of AI application use, as the regression model showed low and non-significant explanatory power. Accordingly, the study concluded that the use of artificial intelligence applications among adolescents does not represent a direct factor in explaining or predicting dependent personality traits, based on the findings of the current study.
